Clothed in Christ

11

As a lifelong Christian, I’ve always been passionate about finding ways to express my faith in my everyday life. One way I’ve been able to do that is through the clothes I wear. Christian apparel has become an essential part of my wardrobe, not just as a fashion statement but as a way to share the gospel message with those around me. What do you consider about ALTARed Life Apparel?

When I first discovered ALTARed Life Apparel, I was immediately drawn to its mission of putting “Christ back at the center of Christian t-shirts.” Its designs are more than just clever slogans or Bible verses—they reflect a deep, Christ-centered theology that has transformed my own walk with the Lord.

The concept of being “ALTARED” is at the heart of what it means to follow Jesus. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). This idea of laying our lives down at the altar, allowing Christ to live through us, is the very essence of the Christian life. ALTARed Life Apparel captures this truth in a way that is both visually striking and theologically profound.

One of my favorite designs is the “Butterfly & Nails Cross T-Shirt.” The image of a butterfly emerging from the cross is a powerful symbol of the new life we have in Christ. Just as a caterpillar undergoes a radical transformation to become a beautiful butterfly, so too are we transformed when we surrender our lives to Jesus. The cross, which once represented death and condemnation, now becomes the means by which we experience the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit.

Another design that has deeply resonated with me is the “No Longer I Who Live – Thin Letter Christian T-Shirt.” This simple yet profound statement encapsulates the heart of the gospel message. When we come to Christ, our old self is crucified, and it is no longer we who live but Christ who lives in us. This is the essence of what it means to be a disciple – to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him (Luke 9:23).

What I love most about these Christ-centered designs is that they are not just empty slogans or surface-level expressions of faith. They are rooted in the profound truths of Scripture and the transformative power of the gospel. Wearing these shirts is not just about making a fashion statement; it’s about declaring the life-changing reality of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

As I go about my daily life, wearing these shirts has become a natural way for me to start conversations about my faith. People often ask me about the meaning behind the designs, and it gives me the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ. I’ve had strangers approach me in the grocery store, at the gym, or even on the street and express how the message on my shirt has encouraged or challenged them in their walk with the Lord.

In a world that is increasingly hostile to the Christian faith, I believe it’s more important than ever for believers to find creative ways to bear witness to the truth of the gospel. Christ-centered apparel is not just a trend or a fad; it’s a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship. By wearing our faith on our sleeves, so to speak, we can boldly proclaim the transformative power of the cross and the new life that is ours in Christ.

As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). Let us, then, be unashamed in our proclamation of the gospel, using every means at our disposal – including the clothes we wear – to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
