The Capital 8 Theater in Montpelier Is Back in Business

Montpelier once more smells of buttery popcorn with the return of one of its historic movie theaters – Capitol Theatre has been an integral part of local life since 1905. Its return is an event worth celebrating.

This theater seats 1,250 guests and boasts an extensive lobby. Perfect for any group gatherings of friends or families!

Seating

The theater provides various seating arrangements, from rows closest to the stage (Row A) to those furthest away (Row M). Seats numbered 1-7 are situated to the right side of the stage, and 8-22 at roughly center stage. Seats reserved for individuals with disabilities are also numbered.

The lobby features a spacious concession stand staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The in-seat menu rivals any movie theater with drinks of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties and meals, snacks, salads, desserts, and much more available for your enjoyment.

Patrons should abide by all house rules and behave appropriately during a show. Anyone violating them may be asked to leave. Law enforcement or the venue may conduct background checks and security searches on them as needed, while masks or items that cover up one’s face are not allowed into theaters for safety reasons.

Concessions

The Capital 8 Theater features an array of concessions, such as popcorn, candy, Icees, nachos, hot dogs, and soda. There is also a kids menu and Kids Packs featuring Honest Kids pouches or fruit treats as part of its offering. On weekends, it offers brunch services.

Moviegoers looking for something extra spicy in their concessions will appreciate this theater, which serves drinks made with Ohio-based Roake drink mixes. From gingery Capitol Moscow Mules and refreshing Nick and Nora Lemonades – Roake drink mixes add something special.

The Capitol Theatre is conveniently located in downtown Port Chester and easily accessible via Metro-North trains, making it accessible and close to shopping districts nearby.
