Selecting the Right O-Ring

Selecting an o-ring requires careful consideration of its specifications – precisely its inside diameter (ID), outside diameter (OD), cross-section thickness, maximum pressure rating, and operating temperature range. Find out the best info about اورینگ.

Metric O-rings are defined by International Standard ISO 3601-1 and are generally divided into two series, G and A. The former offers a more comprehensive ID range, while A offers tight tolerances.

Internal Diameter

Global O-Ring and Seal fully adheres to ISO 3601-1 Class A specifications for standard series O-rings, while ISO 3601-1 Class B sets forth requirements for all metric size O-rings. Furthermore, additional strict tolerance and inspection standards may be achieved upon request.

Internal diameter is one of the critical specifications when selecting an O-ring size, as it determines its overall dimensions and pressure capacity. Furthermore, its choice will be integral in choosing an appropriate elastomer material for an application.

Metric O-rings can be produced from FKM fluorocarbon, Kalrez Simriz Viton Nitrile EPDM silicone, and more. Their internal diameter is determined by both inside diameter and cross-section width. Metric sizes can be found on charts, including US Standard AS568 O-Ring chart, British Standard BS1806, 4518 French AFNOR 47501 DIN 3771, etc. Metric sizes typically correspond with all international O-ring standards, e.g., IDxCS or ID x CS, which allows IDxCS identification vs IDxCS identification of these O-ring sizes; standard international O-ring sizes must match up perfectly!

Cross Section

Sizing an O-Ring requires consideration of several specifications, including its internal diameter, outside diameter, and cross-section dimensions. For proper sealing performance, the area that needs to be filled must be 10% to 15% smaller than its cross-section to achieve appropriate seals. A metric is widely used worldwide, and O-rings conforming to this standard are referenced in the AS 568 A-inch system and ISO 3601. Metric O-rings can be identified using their IDxCS measurements; 2x1N70 defines an O-Ring with 1mm ID made of Nitrile rubber with 70SH cross section dimensions).
