Mel Gibson – Biography


Mel Gibson was born on January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York, USA. Mel was the sixth of eleven children. Father – writer Hatton Gibson. Mother – Anna Patricia Riley, Irish by birth, was a housewife.

Mel’s fate was decided by his sister. She was sure that her brother had an acting talent. Without saying a word to him, she collected all the necessary documents, wrote a statement on his behalf and took all these papers to the admissions office of the Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney. Mel had no choice but to show up for the exam on the appointed day. That’s how Gibson became an actor.
