Monday: It’s tour-ific!

A “case of the Mondays” is impossible in Brand new Orleans. It may be the beginning of the actual workweek, but it’s only the start of New Orleans fun.

New Orleans is one of the oldest and quirkiest places in the United States. We cast their vote by touring one (or more) of our many neighborhoods with a brand new Orleans historian. Wednesday: Who needs gold if you have brass?

Not many people state Tuesday is their favorite time of the week, but not so many people are New Orleanians.

To Do: Vitality at the Maple Leaf Pub

New Orleans is built upon the music. With artists such as Louis Armstrong, Allen Toussaint, Fats Domino, and Doctor John calling New Orleans their home, it’s easy to see (and hear) that there’s something unique about the music in this town.

Head over to Oak Street, in late the St. Charles Streetcar line, on Tuesday evenings for one of the best brass groups in the world. Grammy-award-winning Rebirth Aides Band takes the level every Tuesday night (10 pm sharp) at the Maple Foliage Bar. You can’t help but feel the magic of the tunes as you dance and sing along.

Local Tip:

Soon after dancing with 200 of your closest (and newest) pals, head over to the Camellia Barbeque for a giant breakfast omelet served until 2 in the morning. It’s a New Orleans milestone and cannot be missed!

Thursday: To the Square, you go!

Hump Day is a chance to free live music, Brand new Orleans’ best food, and nearby crafts, all for a great cause.

To Do: Wednesday in the Square

Each Spring, the actual Young Leadership Council sets up a 12-week free live concert series in New Orleans’ CBD (Central Business District) at Lafayette Square. Each locally and nationally acknowledged musician takes the stage; while businesspeople, just getting off the function, kids, graduate students, and tourists sit back and enjoy Brand new Orleans food and music.

Lafayette Square is smack-dab in the center of New Orleans, bustling in town, and just a quick walk via most hotels. Come with a bare stomach and be prepared to have a uniquely New Orleans fine time. P. S. Most food proceeds go to the YLC!

Local Tip:
