Final week, the music firm struck a deal to accumulate Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson’s music rights.
At the moment, BMG has revealed that it’s acquired the recordings catalog of multi-Platinum German pop-rock band Fools Backyard.
The band round founding members Peter Freudenthaler, Volker Hinkel, Thomas Mangold, Roland Röhl and Ralf Wochele rose to worldwide fame in 1995 following the discharge of their album Dish Of The Day and their world smash hit Lemon Tree.
The settlement contains the sound recordings of the entire band’s albums launched between 1991 and 2003 together with Idiot’s Backyard (1991), As soon as In A Blue Moon (1993), their No.1 breakthrough Dish Of The Day (1995), Go And Ask PeggyFor The Principal Factor (1997), For Sale (2000) and 25 Miles To Kissimmee (2003).
Lemon Tree entered the charts all over the world together with six No.1 positions and scored a number of Gold and Platinum awards.
It was translated into over 40 languages. Up to now, Lemon Tree has offered six million copies, and generated over 340 million world streams.
Most lately, Fools Backyard launched a canopy of the music in collaboration with German DJ and producer Alle Farben.
BMG acquisition of the Fools Backyard catalog follows a collection latest rights offers for the music of artists together with Mick Fleetwood, Tina Turner, ZZ High, Mötley Crüe, John Lee Hooker, Jean-Michel Jarre, Primal Scream and Easy Minds, amongst others.
