Looking for something different this week? Trying to shake up your nights? Check out these famous celebrity speakers at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for Performing Arts in Tampa.
This speaker may have caused some controversy during his eight years as President of the United States, but you can’t say he lacks stage presence. Tomorrow, Bill Clinton will talk about “embracing our common humanity.” He will also address today’s politics and problems, while sharing his views on how to fix them.
These next two speakers may be unlikely friends, but they have one big thing in common (other than their gray hair): food. Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert will share their stories and philosophies about the role food plays in our personal and global lives.
Bourdain is best known from his Travel Channel shows, No Reservations and The Layover. Both place him in countries all over the world, tasting wild cuisines, so his insights should be broad.
Eric Ripert is a chef and co-owner of New York’s Le Bernardin. The highly-ranked restaurant received a “29” food rating from 2011 Zagat Food Guide, the highest of any restaurant in the city. He is also a guest judge on Bravo's Top Chef, helping find the next culinary superstar. Their visit will be a Sunday evening of storytelling, including behind-the-kitchen-door secrets.
Come out and listen to these speakers. Even if you don’t agree with everything they say, it’s bound to be entertaining. Maybe you'll leave with a few good recipes.
A delicious alternative to beef, this homemade burger is sure to delight the taste buds.
