MEANWHILE, AT MOSI

Roam an innovative and scientific playground of over 40,000 square feet at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa, Fla., across from the University of South Florida. MOSI offers a wide range of unique and exciting exhibits, including Disasterville  and the High Wire Bike Ride, the nation's longest suspended bike. Be adventurous on the new Sky Trail Rope Course or make a laid-back visit to the free-flying butterfly exhibit, BioWorks Butterfly Garden. MOSI also features Florida's one and only IMAX Dome Theatre, where patrons can watch recently-released movies on a 10,500 square-foot, dome-shaped screen, one unsurpassed in size and clarity.
If you have an interest in the dark, starry sky, MOSI also has a planetarium. Or check out The Amazing You, a mind-blowing exhibition focusing on developmental stages of life from birth to death. The exhibit centralizes on teaching people how to eat healthy and live a healthy lifestyle, as well as how to take care of the body after surgery, illness or disability.

This fall, MOSI will be launching a brand new exhibit, the lunar colony experience a.k.a. The Mission LEAP. LEAP is a simulated futuristic lunar base from the year 2070, built near the southern pole on the moon. In an immersive environment of approximately 2,500 square feet, members will be able to discover how to maintain human habitation in a difficult, lunar environment. Every person will be involved in a colony 'experience,' where their mission is to fulfill roles and work together to maintain life on the moon. At points, emergency scenarios will occur, including solar flares or meteor flares.

MOSI is fully-invested in education, so partake in the 'science of fun' through homeschool classes, school group programs and family programs. They even offer private, overnight camp-ins, where girl and boy scouts can camp overnight and experience MOSI after dark, earning their respective badges during scout skill-building workshops. Prepare to be entertained and educated; prepare for the unexpected, only at MOSI!
