Pirates of the Caribbean star, Johnny Depp makes headlines again with his break up from longtime partner, Vanessa Paradis. After fourteen years, the leading man split amicably from the french singer.

Paradis, best known as a spokesmodel for Chanel, started her career off at age 14 with the worldwide success of her single Joe le taxi. We all know Johnny Depp from his epic movie career and recent Black Keys performance on the MTV Movie Awards. Maybe the couple first bonded over their love of music when they met on the set of the supernatural thriller The Ninth Gate in 1998. Depp had just broken it off with model Kate Moss before courting Paradis. 

The pair shared a lot over the course of their 14 year relationship including their two children, Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9. When out of the spotlight, the couple jetted between their Bahama island, their villa near Saint Tropez, France, and several other homes. 

Rumors of a split flew around Hollywood the past few months. The couple put the rumors to rest yesterday by announcing the split. And after fourteen years, the decision couldn’t have been easy. Depp displayed their fondness for one another by awarding her $150 million in the settlement, half of his earnings. 

Despite their ten year age gap, the two outlasted many celebrity couples.  Now they will always share private island memories and of course their love for Lily-Rose and Jack.
